In partnership with POPS we offer Supporting Fathers Involvement (SFI) training and support
groups. SFI is a 16 week evidence based practice.
SFI curriculum is for a fathers
& couples group led by trained leaders, meeting weekly for 16 weeks. The goal of the intervention is to
strengthen family relationships and enhance fathers' active positive engagement in the lives of their children.
The focus of this intervention is one that provides a family context perspective on fathering,
with the goal being to support and encourage fathers’ active involvement in their children’s lives. The
intervention is designed to target five risk and protective factors that research has shown are associated
with fathers’ involvement with their children. These factors include:
(1) Each parent's individual adjustment (self-confidence, depression, anxiety)
(2) Couple relationship quality
(3) Parent-child relationship quality
(4) Three-generational family patterns
(5) Stresses on the family including those from work (or lack of it), supports (or lack of
them), and family-related policies in the surrounding community and state agencies.

POPS VISION:
POPS envisions a world in which parental
absence is a rarity, where children are nurtured by both their biological parents, and where men and women are
treated with equal respect in all areas of life.
