Family & Youth Roundtable’s Voice in Arts is a community arts program implemented to allow children and youth receiving public services the opportunity to work alongside local San Diego artists as they positively express themselves through creativity and gain a voice through the artistic process. Their art is used to voice opinions on policy change and bettering their experience in public services. Voice in Arts (VIA) allows youth to express their life experiences through artwork. FYRT is assisting kids in CMHS accomplish expression by providing them with the resources, instruction, and access to create their own powerful art. Through the artwork, we are embracing the voice of the youth on a level which quite often gets overlooked or ignored. By truly hearing the voice that speaks through the artwork, we are letting the youth know that an ear is always ready to listen to their views on trauma, their dreams, and any other challenges they encounter.
If you would like to make a donation that would benefit the Voice in Arts (VIA) program, please select the Donation link above. All proceeds will go towards further developing and sustaining VIA.
